NFT Hydroponic System Project For Leaf-Vegetable

NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) is an efficient and convenient hydroponic system, also known as nutrient film technology.

1. Composition of NFT hydroponic system

The NFT hydroponic system mainly consists of hydroponic pipes and table, nutrient solution supply system, reflux system, and control system. A planting pipe is a carrier for plant growth, usually with a certain slope to allow nutrient solution to flow under gravity. The nutrient solution supply system includes a nutrient solution pool and a water pump, responsible for delivering the prepared nutrient solution to the pipes. The reflux system ensures that the used nutrient solution can smoothly flow back to the nutrient solution pool, achieving recycling. The control system is used to monitor and regulate key parameters such as temperature, pH value, and conductivity (EC value) of nutrient solution, creating the optimal environment for plant growth.

2. Preparation before use

(1). System construction: Refer to the installation manual to accurately assemble the hydroponic pipes and tables, nutrient solution tank, water pump, pipeline and other components. After installation, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the system, including the operation of the water pump and the smoothness of the pipelines.

(2). Plant selection and seedling cultivation: The NFT hydroponic system is suitable for planting a variety of plants, such as leafy vegetables. Before planting, carry out seedling cultivation work first. When the seedlings grow to a certain size and have 2-3 true leaves, they can be prepared to be transplanted into the NFT hydroponic system.

(3). Nutrient solution preparation: Choose the appropriate nutrient solution formula based on the type and growth stage of the planted plants.

3. Specific usage steps

(1). Transplant seedlings: Carefully remove the cultivated seedlings from the seedling tray and try to keep the root system intact. Rinse off the seedling substrate attached to the roots with clean water, and then plant the seedlings in the hydroponic net pots. The pots can be fixed on the cover plate of the hydroponic pipes to ensure that the seedling roots can come into contact with the flowing nutrient solution.

(2). Start nutrient solution circulation: Turn on the water pump to allow nutrient solution to flow from the nutrient solution pool into the planting tank through the pipeline. Adjust the flow rate of the water pump to maintain the flow rate of the nutrient solution within an appropriate range, typically 1-2 liters per minute. At the same time, observe the reflux of the nutrient solution to ensure that the used nutrient solution can smoothly flow back to the nutrient solution pool.

(3). Daily management and monitoring: Check the water level of nutrient solution in the planting tank every day, and promptly replenish the nutrient solution reduced due to evaporation and plant absorption.

4. Maintenance points

(1). System cleaning: Regularly clean the NFT hydroponic system to prevent algae growth and impurity accumulation.

(2). Equipment maintenance: Regularly check the operation status of equipment such as water pumps, pipelines, and control systems.

(3). Seasonal adjustment: Adjust the NFT hydroponic system according to the climate characteristics of different seasons.
